Earlier I wanted to thaw some honeybaked hams to make myself some honeybaked ham and cheese sandwiches. My appetite was gone immediately when I opened the microwave oven to thaw the hams.
The pungent smell that hit me was all too familiar. It’s the kind of stench that all of us at work are familiar with as an IO or NPCO. My mum had left a dish in the oven since last week and forgotten to bring it out! Ever since she went to live at my sis’s place, no one had used the microwave oven until today.
There are no pictures to show u the maggots in the dish coz I was too frantic and anxious to throw the gross stuff down the chute. As I’m writing this, my dad had returned home and is sterlising the microwave oven. He has the cheeks to laugh when I recounted to him the gross experience.
I only made it to home at 3am this morning but that did not stop me from waking at 9am plus to meet Wendy and PL at the Raoul sale. It was simply too good an opportunity to miss.
The 3 of us did not have our breakfast. All thoughts of food were banished as adrenalin and excitement ran high with each good find.
We saw these 2 guys in the store and I really took my hat off them. They came dressed in slippers, shorts and singlets! Just so they could try on the shirts outside the fitting rooms. The fitting rooms were closed for the sale. Everyone was trying on the shirts openly but these guys really come prepared. Who says only women are shopaholics? Scary.
I was out with my squad mates for some good beer at Brewerkz last night, to celebrate the guys’ promotions. The mussels at Brewrkz was still as good as ever. We even have WM and Stewart with us, who seldom join us at our outings! WM even broke his ‘curfew’ and stayed out till past midnight.
One guy brought a counterpart from Hong Kong to join us. William is quite a fun person who mixed around with us easily. He even offered to cook TT, and his wife and me a meal in the coming weekend! I can look forward to a good meal next week….. But I have to help to do marketing with them!
I’ve told TT I can’t handle the marketing alone. I’ll need him or Ice to help me to bring William to the market. I’m totally hopeless at culinary skills.
