If you think that my weekend will be consumed by my new PSP, you are half right. I finally went to check out the former Bidadari Christian Cemetry as a new running spot. I had intended to go there with Mr Ho last Sunday but had to cancel the run due to rain. The cemetry was exhumed to make way for the MRT NEL construction. The beautiful tombstones are gone but not the tranquility.

Former Bidadari Christian Cemetry

My first venture into the cemetry was in the 1990s when I took shortcut in the evening through part of the cemetry to get to the bus stop along Upper Serangoon Road after school. There was no ‘fear’ of supernatural encounters as the girls always thronged the cemetry in packs. The cemetry was already popular with joggers then.

I find the gentle slopes and winding roads suitable for IPPT training. After completing 2 rounds of the ground, we continued down Upper Aljunied Road to Cedar Ave and all the way back to former cemetry, clocking around 4.82m in total.
