First it was a sumptuous dim sum breakfast at 幸福楼. Sis had suggested dim sum coz she wanted to eat her fill before she delivers on Wednesday and going into her confinement.
It was high tea buffet in the afternnon at 老北京食堂 with my CSE course mates. All of us lost touch after uni. I got back in touch with them after meeting another CSE course mate unexpectedly at a colleague’s wedding 2 years ago.
As I drove one of them home, I passed by the former Christian cemetry along Serangoon Road. Going to check the place out as a new jogging place tomorrow.
Went to ECP for a run after a week of hiatus. It’s amazing how one’s stamina can deteriorate so fast after a week. Was running when I saw a rainbow in the sky. Too bad I didn’t have my camera with me then.
It was off to Hong Kong Cafe at East Coasr Road for dinner after the run. The calories burnt from the run were wasted. Just look at what I had for dinner.
Famous HK Yam & Chicken in Claypot. The milky sauce is actually coconut! Utterly sinful!!
HK Fried Noodle
BBQ Spicy Egg Plant
Also had the steam custard egg as dessert with ginger but it’s not very good. At the rate I’m eating, I think the next few months will be tough training for the New Balance Real Run.
Borrowed Stephanie Sun’s latest album 逆光 from a colleague. Was listening to the album on my way home after dinner (went JB for a super delicious dinner with the branch). I’m only at Song No. 5 我怀念的 so far and I concluded that this would easily be my favourite song out of the whole album although I’ve not hear the remaining songs. 因为个人经历, 总觉得歌曲轻宜地唱进我心坎里.
This morning I received an email from a colleague with the subject title ‘$$$$$$$$$$$’. I only dabble in I-Bet once in a while and I only get $20 winnings from Sunday’s draw, so please don’t think I have striked it rich.
My mum was telling me that she was concerned I would become addicted to 4-D. I think she worries too much. Considering the 4D influences around me, I’m one of the rare ones who do not buy 4D regularly.
Anyway, I don’t know if it’s a sign coz today at lunch, a colleague accidentally dropped the whole of cup iced lemon tea on me. It’s not a pretty sight and I was wearng a new shirt today. I have iced lemon tea drenching my shirt and skirt, and soaking my shoes. But chinese have always associated water with fortune. Could this be a sign that I should go and buy more 4D?
Finally back in Singapore after a short getaway. We didn’t do anything today except to catch our breakfast before checking out of the room. While waiting for the ferry transfer, a Singapore couple lodged a complain to the resort. It seems they also had the weak water pressure problem in their room yesterday. We just can’t be bothered to make a complain. Despite the room problems we’ve encountered, it was still a satisfying short getaway. But I think I will give Bintan a miss next time. It’s too expensive to holiday there.
The entire 2nd day was spent leisurely on the beach. Our room woes started again in the evening. I’ve already figured out how to meddle with the key. This time the problem lies in the water pressure of the shower. There was some work going on in the resort and they had turn the water pressure so low that it took me 30 minutes to shower. The water dripping out of the shower was so pathetic.
